What factors affect PCB price?
Over the years, pcb price changes in pcba circuit board manufacturers have become familiar to people inside and outside the industry. Although some people with years of experience in the pcba manufacturing industry may not fully understand the context, let's analyze the main factors that affect the price of PCB:
1. The price difference caused by different materials used in PCB is based on the common double-sided board. The plates generally include fr-4, cem-3, etc. The plate thickness varies from 0.2mm to 5.0mm, and the copper thickness varies from 0.5oz to 3oz. All of these have led to a huge price difference of plates; In solder resist inks, there is a certain price difference between ordinary thermosetting oil and photosensitive green oil, so the diversity of materials results in the diversity of prices.
2. Different production processes used by PCB lead to different production processes, and different prices will lead to different costs. For example, the production of gold-plated plates and tin spraying plates, shaped milling (grinding) plates and beer (red) plates, and the use of silk screen lines and dry film lines will have different costs, resulting in various prices.
3. The price difference caused by the difficulty of PCB itself will lead to different costs even though the materials and processes are the same. For example, there are 1000 holes on both plates, and the hole diameter of one plate is greater than 0.6 mm, and the hole diameter of the other plate is less than 0.6 mm, which will result in different drilling costs; If the two boards are the same, the line weights are different. The difference is that one is larger than 0.2mm and the other is smaller than 0.2mm, which also leads to different production costs. Because of the high scrap rate of difficult to process boards, the cost will inevitably increase, resulting in price differences.
4. Different customer requirements will also lead to different prices. The level of customer demand will directly affect the plate making rate. For example, a board passing through the ipc-a-600e requires a 98% pass rate for class1, but according to the requirements of class3, it may only have a 90% pass rate, resulting in different factory costs and ultimately changes in product prices.
5. The price difference caused by the PCBA chip processing plant, even if it is the same product, will cause different costs due to different manufacturers' technologies and equipment and different technical levels. Now many manufacturers like to produce tin spraying plates because of simple process and low cost. However, some manufacturers also produce gold plated plates, resulting in high scrap rate and high cost. As a result, they prefer to produce stencil plates, so their stencil plate price is lower than that of gold plated plates.
6. Price differences caused by different payment methods At present, pcba manufacturers generally adjust PCB prices according to different payment methods, ranging from 5% to 10%, which will also cause price differences.
7. Regional differences in pcba production lead to price diversification. currently, from a regional perspective, prices have been rising from south to north. There are some differences in prices in different regions, so different regions also cause price differences.
